I grew up with carob. I love it, I’m used to the toasted kind and didn’t know that raw was available until now. Now that I’ve tried the raw version I won’t go back. The raw flavor is lighter, more friendly and just tastes smoother on the tongue to me. With any carob powder know that it gets everywhere when measuring it so just be extra careful and gentle with it and you’ll be okay. If you like carob powder try this version! 5 Stars Maintains Elasticity!
I’ve been using this fabric wash for about 10 years. I will use nothing else. I used to buy it at Nordstroms, but they discontinued carrying it because they went with a product that is “Green”. While, I can appreciate that, I will never stop using this product. I primarily use this for my bras. It was recommended to me many years ago, because it maintains the elasticity in bras. I have noticed that my bras do last longer. Not to mention, it smells wonderful. It’s a light powdery scent that isn’t too overpowering. I’m so glad that Amazon carries this stuff, or I’d be lost.

I bought the liquid version of this after a lingerie store recommended it. They claimed it was good for spandex and other stretchy fabrics. I find it works great on all delicates – it’s cut my dry cleaning bill way down!! When I used woolite, I found that sometimes my clothes that I hung dry were sometimes kind of “crunchy”. This product keeps them as soft as if I had washed and dried them. No ironing needed either. I wash all of my sweaters, skirts, and knits in this. I use it on the delicate cycle in my washer.

I found that I used the liquid one too fast and wanted a less expensive alternative but was afraid to try anything else. I bought this powdered version even though I was worried it would leave white powder or chunks on my clothes. I dissolve the recommended amount (1/4 cup) in water and then poured that into the washer and it worked just like the liquid did! Excellent. The powder dissolved amazingly fast in lukewarm water, and fairly quickly in cold.

It does have a distinct smell – I like it but others have commented it’s overpowering – the company makes “variance”, a nonsmell version of this product, if you like unscented products.

I recently bought some noni juice to try out since I’ve heard such rave reviews about how healthy it is. I was not expecting the bitter, potent taste that assaulted my taste buds, but since you only take an ounce a day it’s easy to chug out of a shot glass. It definitely has increased my energy levels (especially in the morning) but as far as long term results go, I can’t say as yet since I’ve only been taking it for a few weeks. These are great! I can’t buy them often enough, my kids LOVE them. I love them. The remind me of Quaker oats chocolate chip granola bars, only the texture is a little different. But they taste really good, especially for being healthy! I feel much better giving these to my kids over so many alternative snacks. My daughters a carb-aholic so she loves these. I buy about one a month and yes they may cost more than said Quaker brand, but at least you know these are much healthier for your kids. They deserve the best! Can’t speak highly enough of these bars!

I tried many ways to use this product, but it tastes so bad I couldn’t use it. Oatmeal, in a drink, whatever I tried, I couldn’t get away from the putrid taste. So I don’t know if it works or not.

1 Star The subtle but strong smell was overbearing!
I am guilty of not listening to other reviewers’ warnings about the horrible smell. I bought it thinking I could overcome the smell given the health reputation of macca. But I was wrong. I could not get rid of the smell no matter how hard I tried to mask it. Plus, I researched some more and found out that there isn’t any hard evidence backing up the health claims of macca. Too bad I have a pricey bag of powder sitting in my freezer!

4 Stars Definitely has an effect, but be careful
I have been taking maca capsules for several months now with no negative side effects, in addition to other supplements, i.e. Vitamin C, B, E & calcium daily. This morning, I tried 1 tsp of maca powder in a cup of yogurt. The taste was fairly awful, but I suppose it’s an acquired taste based on what I am reading here. About 20 minutes later, I took half a dropper of sublingual Vitamin B as I normally do in the morning. Five minutes after that, I became shaky and nauseous & for the next 1 1/2 hours my body did everything it could to rid itself of what I had ingested. Without going into detail, suffice it to say it was not pleasant. Judging from the other reviews here, however, this is a good product, so I may have just made a huge mistake mixing it with Vitamin B. I am hoping that is all, but this strong adverse reaction tells me that maca powder definitely does affect your energy level in some way – hence the shakiness. I have also since read that it is best to start with a smaller dose than is recommended, i.e. 1/4 tsp. I am in perfect health & physically fit, so I don’t have a preexisting condition that would explain my reaction, nor have I ever had a negative reaction to vitamins or other supplements. So……my belief is that this product does work as intended, & for that reason I am giving it 4 stars, but use it with a bit of caution. If this helps even one person avoid my experience, then it’s worth the time to post this.

1 Star What Nobody Tells You About RAW Maca…
I have never written a review before but I always consult Amazon.com reviews before buying a product so thought I would give back at least once. I bought this product BEFORE I thoroughly researched it due to lifelong problems related to a hormonal imbalance and was soooo excited I just bought what I thought would be good; raw and organic. I took this product for 3 days until I broke out in hives. I only took 1/2 tsp day one and 1/4 tsp days 2 and 3. I got the hives day 2 but was hoping they were not related to the Maca (they were). So…. I researched more and there is one very informative forum I found on google (hard to find and not sure if I’m allowed to refer it or not but here it is but FINISH reading to the bottom or you will not try this product ever): [...]. There are a bunch of websites and some scientific reviews, but long story short, it appears that Maca MUST be eaten pre-cooked (gelatinized) to obtain therapeutic benefits and to alleviate potential problems related to digestion (when eaten raw) and possible toxicity (raw) the way the native Puruvians have done for thousands of years to the present (cooked). There are studies that show ingesting raw Maca is worse than not adding it to the diet at all. Based on what I’ve read you need to start SLOWLY with the dosage and adjust it according to your body’s needs, then take a break from it occasionally or it appears to lose potency. If improper dosages are taken it exacerbates the imbalance/symptoms. There are (reportedly) many benefits of Maca on the entire Endocrine system and I still have high hopes so ordered from another company who doesn’t sell raw Maca due to the reasons above. I believe Navitas also has a gelatinized version of the Maca but I bought one with DIM to prevent the overproduction of bad estrogen which can cause cancer in people with a family history. Hope this helps!

I must say that i’ve taken many different supplements, etc as i lift weights regularly and this is by far the nastiest smelling/tasting stuff ever BUT if you stick with it for about a month you really get used to the taste. I mixed it with OJ which worked for me and i must say after the first week and half i was amazed at my energy levels in the gym and in my daily movements. I give it 4 stars for it’s effectiveness and it loses a star for it’s taste/smell.

5 Stars This is the only formula we use!!!
When we started shopping for formulas for our DD to supplement, we reviewed and researched all possible options out there. After a considerable review and research we decided that this is the best one we could find in the market for now.

There are several reasons why we picked this over the others..

- This is organic (so a lot friendly to the baby as well as the environment).

- Pesticide / Chemicals / Hormone Free

- This was very very close to breast milk and our DD did have any problems switching back and forth between breast milk and the formula.

- The bowl movements were regulated and resembled very close how it would look if she were only breast fed.

- Less Gas / Less Iritations

- AMAZON’s amazing price offer (on Subscription).

1 Star Formula is fine, but I’m not so sure I’d call it “Earth’s Best”…
… in fact it might just be the exact same formula as your closest local/national grocery store brand but with the added bonus of costing about 30% more. We had recently been using this formula until we ran out and I had to make an emergency run to the local grocery store for a quick replacement. The closest thing they had was their organic store brand. Funny thing is, when I got home to compare the two I noticed the ingredients are EXACTLY the same as well as some of the machine writing on the bottom of the cans where you can find the sell by date. From what I can gather after doing a bit of research the formula ingredients used to be different but have recently changed without letting customers know. Virtually all store brand organic formulas come from one manufacturing plant whether you buy it at store X or Y and it seems that Earth’s Best is now being produced in this same facility but charging a premium price. I suggest checking this out for yourself, you might be able to save some money.

1 Star Toxic Hexane in Formula???
To be honest, I have never written a review, not matter how good or bad a product I received was. I never had the time and never bothered. Today, I write my very first review of a product that I have been feeding my precious son since birth. He is now 2 years 4 months. I could never breastfeed him exclusively due to bone density loss and I did massive amounts of research and tried out tons of different brands before deciding on this organic formula from Earth’s Best and since then, even though he is now a toddler, I still use the Earth’s Best infant formula and supplement with other child vitamins.

I was trying to re-order again in bulk from Amazon when I noticed for the first time the controversy over DHA/ARA extraction by the use of toxic hexane of which Hain Celestial which manufactures Earth’s Best is guilty of. To understand my utter complete fury, you must know that I live in Singapore and I quite literally pay international shipping for every can of this formula (and wade through customs declarations, tests and tax levies) to bring this milk to my son. In Singapore, this can of milk is also available but in highly limited quantities and even more princely prices (yes, even after the tax, customs and shipping, it still costs less than US$68 which is the going price per can here). Calls to Hain Celestial customer service drove me further up the wall when first, a lady said the hexane was only in trace amounts and less than what the FDA approved. Then, reaching another lady an hour later, the story was different. She said that the hexane solvent method was the only method approved by the FDA to extract the DHA/ARA from non-toxic algae and soil fungus. A third occasion and Hain’s customer service informed me that there should be no hexane detected in the product but on further probing admitted that she was not aware if the formula had undergone independent third party tests.

To me, this is crazy. The formula was marketed as a pure organic product and we pay premium prices (especially me!) for a premium product. To find that that they have taken such short cuts is completely unacceptable and the worst thing is that, it turns out that most of the other organic formula companies do this exact irresponsible thing and keep quiet about it. The only company that does not is Baby’s Only – it uses a water based process to extract their DHA/ARA from eggs(compare this to Hain’s claim that the hexane method is the only one approved by FDA and one wonders why Baby’s Only hasn’t been hauled up by the FDA yet). My son is going on that pronto once I can get a shipment to Singapore. Unfortunately, Baby’s Only is not available in Singapore (not even at princely prices) and my son is going to have to continue ingesting his Earth’s Best formula in the interim.

Please do the research before choosing a formula. When my daughter was first born I used Earth’s Best. Not being able to breastfeed I wanted to ensure she was getting the best formula possible. Imagine my surprise and horror after discovering the methods they use to extract this supposed healthy DHA and ARA. Hexane is highly toxic. It’s a gimmick used to move product. Once I switched I knew I made the right choice, and my daughter did much better with this on top of it.

My baby does best on regular Similac. Even 2 oz of Earth Best (milk based) formula 1-2 times a day make him spit up a lot (almost womit), and caused him constipation. Also cried after eating the formula. Next day after introducing the formula, he was refusing to eat it.
